The DL371PRO9 features managed latency and 40 bit floating point processing precision. DL371PRO9 sets the standard of performance in high-profile live sound applications and is a truly impressive audio system engine for the engineer whose very livelihood depends on both unparalleled functionality and reliability. DL371PRO9’s powerful DSPs and high-performance FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) technology, coupled with a highly efficient MIMD (Multiple Instruction, Multiple Data) architecture, delivers 31.6 Gigaflops of real-time audio processing. With the capability to handle up to 88 simultaneous input channels and 35 time-aligned and phase-coherent output mix buses, DL371PRO9 is a powerhouse of digital audio mixing technology. HyperMAC and AES50 audio networking technologies allow up to 288 inputs and 294 outputs at 96 kHz sampling frequency combined with 40 bit floating point processing precision, which can be dynamically assigned to the PRO9’s input channels and bus outputs on a dynamic scene-by-scene basis. This high level of connectivity, coupled with the large channel and bus counts, make the PRO9 and DL371PRO9 equally at home in theatres and symphony halls as it is in live concert touring, outside broadcast and music festivals.

Digital Audio Networking

SuperMAC (AES50-Compliant) and HyperMAC digital audio networking technologies from KLARK TEKNIK simultaneously provide high channel counts, ultra low and deterministic latencies, sample-synchronous and phase-aligned networked clock distribution, error detection, network redundancy, and ease of deployment and use – to meet the demanding requirements of live concert touring. The DL371PRO9 HyperMAC router provides a dual redundant snake connection to the PRO9 Control Centre over optical fibre or copper with a bandwidth of 192 bidirectional channels of 96 kHz 24 bit digital audio, up to a distance of 500 m with optical fibre or 100 m with CAT5/5e cable. DL371PRO9 is compatible with all MIDAS PRO Series digital I/O units, as well as with any other 96 kHz-enabled AES50-equipped devices. Multiple PRO Series consoles can be connected together to create either larger mixing systems, or multiple discrete mixing consoles can share a common resource of networked and distributed I/O interfaces.

40 Bit Floating Point Processing

DL371PRO9 can simultaneously process up to 8 internal multi-channel effects and its 40 bit floating-point audio processing hosts a wide choice of virtual effects devices, which range from dual-mono delay units, stereo modulation and numerous diverse reverberation simulations, multi-band compression, dynamic EQ and multi-channel dual-function dynamics processing. Up to 36 1⁄3 octave KLARK TEKNIK DN370 Graphic Equalisers (GEQs) are provided, which can be patched into any output. The oversampled digital signal processing algorithms, combined with the fully interpolated and touch sensitive user controls, result in the smooth continuous response and immediacy of working on an analogue console. Parameter adjustment becomes fast and easy, and the continuous phase shift of a swept frequency control is heard without the quantisation artefacts exhibited by competing digital consoles. DL371PRO9 provides comprehensive automatic latency management of all internal routing and processing delays – and also includes compensation for external analogue inserts. All audio samples are synchronised before summing, resulting in absolute phase coherence at the outputs, without the comb filtering effects of competing products that often result in specific frequencies being cancelled out completely. All effects processors and GEQs are custom-designed to function within this automatic latency compensation system. This ensures a phase-coherent, sample-accurate mix regardless of whether the devices are used as channel inserts or on auxiliary buses.

Expandable DSP Processing

DL371PRO9 is fitted with 6 DL371A DSP cards as standard. Provision for an additional DL371A DSP card allows upgrading to N+1 redundant operation. In the very rare event that one of the DSP cards should experience an execution fault, this optional redundant card is loaded with that card’s profile under the control of the PRO 9 Control Centre.

Built for the Road

Featuring a rugged steel 7U rackmount enclosure, DL371PRO9 is designed for the rigours of live concert touring. Premium industry-standard connectors are used to ensure reliable network connections, night after night.

Redundancy - For Peace of Mind

DL371PRO9 features three removable power supplies - only two of which are required for operation. The power supplies, which are interchangeable with those in the PRO9 Control Centre, are auto-voltage sensing for use on a worldwide basis and provide seamless switchover in the unlikely event of a loss of one of the three power supplies. Combined with the dual-redundant HyperMAC snake and the redundant AES50 networking, plus the N+1 redundancy offered by the optional additional DSP card, no other console system goes further in providing peace of mind. This means that during a show the user can focus on what is most important - treating the audience to a flawless sonic experience.

Architecture and Engineering Specifications

The audio system engine shall be designed for digital audio mixing applications and be optimised for use in live performance. Such surgical-level equalisation enables fine tuning the filter to reduce the gain at frequencies that are prone to feedback, or remove undesirable tonal qualities and their overtones. Conversely, the ability to increase (boost) the gain at certain frequencies provides the ideal way to add punch to bass and kick drum signals, or to add presence to vocal or solo instrument tonalities. The PARAMETRIC EQUALISER 512 utilises 4 overlapping frequency bands to easily and expertly craft professional-grade output signals – both in the studio and during live performance. Its famous purple colour and features made it so distinctly Midas. It soon established itself as the world wide industry standard for live sound applications. The H3K proved to be a huge winner from day one. The striking colour scheme wasn’t the only thing that made waves within the industry. With a new pre-amp design bettering that of the iconic XL4, large channel and aux counts plus the flexible aux switching system, it’s no wonder the H3K appeared on everyone’s spec as the console of choice. Living up to the reputation of the H3K is undeniably a hard task; the H3K set a new standard in live mixing. Naming the Heritage D after such an iconic mixing console was indeed a bold move. However, this product is bold and visionary whilst keeping the legendary sound quality and raising the bar on what a digital mixing console can achieve. Building on the prolific history of the H3K and PRO Series consoles, the new Heritage D now reinvents the workflow of the sound engineer. Finally, a Midas you can touch. Featuring a powerful 21” HD touch screen and formidable ultramodern Graphic User Interface (GUI) control all at your fingertips. Heritage D is a vision of the future with thought provoking new features such as Channel AI (yes, Artificial Intelligence). This platform is designed for the future and will continue to grow and develop over many years with an impressive Midas team that are eager to improve and constantly add new features. Your investment in the Heritage D is safe.

The Graviton Mk 2 Processing Engine

At the heart of every mixing console is the most important part – Audio. Overlooked by other manufacturers, we have always put sound at the top of our priority list. It was hard, almost impossible, but we improved on the legendary Midas digital sound with our new 64-bit summing mix engine with increased dynamic range. Driving a Midas has never been easier. The key to the Midas sound is in giving ultimate flexibility while still being delay compensated. Avoiding the dreaded comb filtering effect is so very important. Many other consoles simply ignore this crucial part of the audio signal path.

Flexi-Aux

The Flexi-Aux system gives the ability to send aux to aux for group or stem style mixing. Now you can smash a whole drum kit with parallel compression and feed it to an artists in ear mix.

Variable Channel Phase

The new, intuitive, easy to use Variable Phase per channel allows sound sources to be blended together seamlessly, with high or low phase changes to mix signals together in ways never achievable before.

Tap Off Points

New tap off points on channels have been introduced to allow signals to be sent from any point in the signal path. This gives greater flexibility for sending signals to stage before any element of processing has been performed. All this without affecting what Midas magic is needed for the main mix. For the first time on a Midas, post insert fader points are available plus all processing options orders can be changed by simply dragging and dropping in the order you desire.

With Great Power Comes… More Chips

With 18 Sharc DSPs, 14 layer boards, 5 Eighth Generation FPGAs and 2 GPU co-processors there has never been such a technologically advanced board in the world. Featuring 168 simultaneous input channels and 99 time-aligned and phase-coherent mix buses, the PRO X sets a new performance benchmark in high-profile live sound applications and is a truly impressive digital control surface for the engineer whose very livelihood depends on both unparalleled functionality and reliability. Like all PRO Series consoles, the PRO X features managed latency and 40 bit floating point processing precision. HyperMAC and AES50 audio networking technologies allow the PRO X to dynamically assign up to 288 inputs and 294 outputs at 96 kHz sampling rate to any of its input channels and bus outputs on a scene-by-scene basis. This high level of connectivity, coupled with the large channel and bus counts, makes the PRO X equally at home in theatres and symphony halls as it is in live concert touring, outside broadcast and music festivals.

Digital Audio Networking

SuperMAC (AES50-Compliant) and HyperMAC digital audio networking technologies from Klark Teknik simultaneously provide high channel counts, ultra low and deterministic latencies, sample-synchronous and phase-aligned networked clock distribution, error detection, network redundancy, and ease of deployment and use – to meet the demanding requirements of live concert touring. The PRO X HyperMAC router provides a dual redundant snake connection to the NEUTRON Audio System Engine over optical fibre and copper with a bandwidth of 192 bidirectional channels of 96 kHz 24 bit digital audio, up to a distance of 500 m with optical fibre or 100 m with CAT5/5e cable. PRO X is compatible with all Midas PRO Series digital I/O units, as well as with any other 96 kHz enabled AES50-equipped devices. Multiple PRO Series consoles can be connected together to create either larger mixing systems, or multiple discrete mixing consoles can share a common resource of networked and distributed I/O interfaces.

PRO X Advanced Navigation Flexibility

PRO X incorporates new and innovative methods of channel and mix bay navigation: FLIP Navigation, FX Navigation, GEQ Navigation, and MCA Navigation. These four options allow an engineer to easily and efficiently mix a large number of inputs on a compact control surface. PRO X also features the ability to display and control any output bus on the input control bay area. This navigation flexibility makes working with the console as simple as requirements dictate, or as deep and complex as a user desires. PRO X’s new centre section, which features 24 LCD switches that provide immediate access to up to 24 stereo pairs of output mix buses, also supports the new navigation modes.

Integrated Effects Processors and Graphic Equalisers

The PRO X can simultaneously process up to 24 internal multi-channel effects and NEUTRON’s 40 bit floating-point audio processing hosts a wide choice of virtual effects devices, which range from dual-mono delay units, stereo modulation and numerous diverse reverberation simulations, multi-band compression, dynamic EQ and multi-channel dual-function dynamics processing. Up to 36 1⁄3 octave Klark Teknik DN370 Graphic Equalisers (GEQs) are provided, which can be patched into any output. PRO X provides comprehensive automatic latency management of all internal routing andprocessing latency – and also includes compensation for external analogue inserts.

MIDAS PRO Fader

Not satisfied with the existing motorised fader choices in the marketplace, Midas created the PRO FADER, rated for up to a million cycles – three times that of other leading manufacturers - and providing high linearity, robustness, and smooth feel during operation. This decision yielded many other benefits, including total quality control over the manufacturing process and lower costs that could be passed on to customers. As a digital console manufacturer, Midas has a perspective on the actual application of motor faders that a component manufacturer would not have. The multi-disciplinary development project combined mechanical design, electronic hardware and software optimisation with a rigorous testing programme and an investment in material science to produce the best possible performance in actual operation in Midas PRO Series consoles. Semi-precious metals are used for the wiper fingers for their hard-wearing properties, and precision resistive tracks were created that offered highly linear positional accuracy, coupled with long-term durability and even response in use.

Highest Quality Display Screens

The PRO X Control Centre features dual 15" full colour daylight-viewable TFT displays for use in all environments, both inside and outdoors. The displays provide visual feedback for the entire system, the on-screen menus instantly navigate to the console overview page, which keeps all vital information (all metering, all fader positions, mutes and solos) in view at all times.

Digital Precision, Analogue Response

The oversampled digital signal processing algorithms, combined with the fully interpolated and touch sensitive user controls, result in the smooth continuous response and immediacy of working on an analogue console. Parameter adjustment becomes fast and easy, and the continuous phase shift of a swept frequency control is heard without the quantisation artefacts exhibited by competing digital consoles.

Wireless Remote Control

Delivering unprecedented control and mobility, the MIXTENDER App for iPad * combines control of key functions with the highly responsive system metering, allowing users to take control of PRO X using an iPad from anywhere in a venue. Support for multiple simultaneous iPads allows FOH and monitor engineers to work collaboratively, enhancing productivity and communication as well as saving valuable time during set-up. The MIXTENDER App for iPad is available as a free download from the Apple App Store.

Redundancy - For Peace of Mind

The PRO X has dual-redundant control computers, and three removable power supplies - only two of which are required for operation. The power supplies, which are interchangeable with those in the NEUTRON Engine, are auto-voltage sensing for use on a worldwide basis and provide seamless switchover in the unlikely event of a loss of one of the three power supplies. Combined with the dual-redundant HyperMAC snake and the redundant AES50 networking, no other console goes further in providing peace of mind. This means that during a show the user can focus on what is most important - treating the audience to a flawless sonic experience.

Architecture and Engineering Specifications

The control centre shall be designed for digital audio mixing applications and be optimised for use in live performance. The hybrid VF24 bridges the gap between analogue and digital audio consoles, and offers the user the ease-of-use, warmth, feel and zero-latency of analogue, combined with the power, choice and flexibility of outboard digital processing. Whilst originally intended for live sound applications, the superb audio performance and the addition of the FireWire digital audio interface means that the VF24 is equally at home in recording and mixdown applications. Many manufacturers cut quality when they design small format mixers. At Midas, we understand that a modest footprint doesn’t have to mean compromised performance and a poor feature set. The VF24 embodies this philosophy, from its rugged construction and top-of-the-range components, to the unmistakable Midas sound, which makes for a truly professional audio mixing console. From the horizontal fader panel with premium 100 mm faders, through the legendary 4 band Midas XL3 channel EQ, to the latest expression of the legendary Midas microphone preamplifier, this is a console without compromise.

Award-Winning Midas Microphone Preamplifier

The Midas microphone preamplifier is considered by leading live sound and recording engineers to be the very essence of the famous Midas sound. More than 40 years of design experience paired with the finest choice of premium-grade components lead to the acclaimed warmth and depth - bringing out subtle ambience, maintaining spatial positioning and more effectively capturing a precise sound image. The acclaimed sound of the award-winning Midas microphone preamplifier has inspired generations of live sound engineers to their best work, creating sonic panoramas that have captivated audiences worldwide. Since pristine sound always begins with the microphone preamplifier, the first point where the signal enters the console, VF24 features the latest generation of Midas microphone preamplifiers, which faithfully reproduce every sonic detail so no part of a performance will ever be missed. Transparent and pristine sound, low noise and high common-mode rejection are all hallmarks of this classic design. Over the years many mix engineers have found this robust and overload-tolerant design takes on a whole new dimension of sound when driven hard, the crystal-clear audiophile reproduction giving way to just the right combination of harmonics, a warm and organic sound heard by millions of concert goers and recorded for posterity on countless live albums over the years.

Acclaimed Midas XL3 EQ

VF24 features an enhanced version of the legendary equalisation section from the classic Midas XL3, the definitive live analogue monitor console. Throughout countless world tours, festivals and other live events, the XL3 became a proven workhorse of the live audio industry, excelling in both FOH and monitor applications. This channel equalisation design has proven itself capable of handling the most demanding stage monitoring situations, whilst providing immersive and compelling on-stage sound to inspire performers to new creative heights. Each mono input channel on the VF24 features the XL3’s 4 bands of swept equalisation, consisting of Bass and Teble shelving filters with adjustable frequency and gain, and fully parametric Lo Mid and Hi Mid bands featuring variable bandwidth controls as well as adjustable frequency and gain. This enhanced control set allows for both powerful and musical creative and corrective equalisation, whether the aim is gentle contouring or a scalpel-sharp surgical cut.

FireWire Digital Audio Interface with up to 24 Inputs and 24 Outputs

VF24’s FireWire interface connects directly to your computer to provide a bidirectional 24 channel digital audio link with 24-bit fixed point precision at 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates. This interface can be used with any computer fitted with an IEEE-1394 FireWire port and allows the use of third party audio recording and processing software in conjunction with the console. The conversion between the analogue and digital domains uses the lowest latency converters and advanced filter designs developed for the industry-first Midas XL8 Live Performance System. This ensures that the conversion process is transparent and free from any undesirable digital artefacts, whilst minimising the round-trip latency essential for the use of software plug-ins for outboard processing, to preserve that unmistakable Midas sound. Additionally, the FireWire outputs from the four stereo input channel pairs can be overridden by aux send 1 & 2 or groups 1 & 2 (channels 17 & 18), aux send 3 & 4 or groups 3 & 4 (channels 19 & 20), monitor 1 & 2 or matrix 1 & 2 (channels 21 & 22) and the master stereo output (channels 23 & 24). This ability to route the bus outputs to the FireWire interfaces allows a computer to be used with the VF24 in exactly the same way as traditional outboard rackmount audio processing and recording equipment, retaining familiar approaches to mixing console workflows whilst adding the flexibility and accessibility offered by computer-based audio.

Analogue or FireWire Digital input

The VF24’s mono channels and stereo input channel pairs can either be sourced from the microphone preamplifiers or from the incoming FireWire interface, so playback channels from a computer can have the benefit of the premium Midas analogue signal path and equalisation section, ideal for mixing ‘out of the box’ in conjunction with digital audio workstations and recording software. VF24 enables virtual sound checking, with playback of pre-recorded tracks to save valuable time during show set-up, especially to refine mixes when artists cannot always be present.

6 Auxiliary Sends

VF24 features 6 auxiliary send buses with individual bus pre/post fader switching and optional routing to FireWire interface outputs. The 2 aux send buses designated as monitor sends are also switchable to be pre-EQ or post-EQ on an individual input channel basis. All aux send outputs feature XLR connectors with TRS insert points.

4 Output Groups with Aux Changeover

In addition to the mono and stereo output bus assignment switches, each input channel on VF24 includes individual assignment switches to the 4 output groups, which feature XLR connectors and TRS insert points. VF24 is ideal for use for both FOH or monitor console applications. Whilst FOH engineers would generally rather use their output faders for groups (either for sub mixes or alternative outputs), monitor engineers tend to prefer to use the output faders on their console to set the aux send output levels. To achieve this flexibility, the VF24 features an ‘aux c/o’ (aux/group changeover) switch per group output, so that each group output can be individually ‘changed over’ so that the group output path becomes that of the corresponding aux send output and vice versa.

7 x 2 Matrix with Stereo Split

VF24 features a 7 x 2 output matrix with level controls for contributions from the 4 groups, and the master left, right and mono outputs. The 2 matrix output channels feature a level control, mute and solo switches with LED indication with balanced XLR output connectors and TRS insert points. Additional switches split the left and right contributions to the matrix (default is a sum of left and right), and to optionally route the matrix outputs to the FireWire interface.

Analogue and FireWire Direct Outputs

A single switch on each input channel allows both the FireWire channel output and the analogue direct output to be set to either Pre-EQ or Post-EQ for maximum flexibility for recording and outboard processing.

Built for the Road

Featuring a rugged steel chassis frame, VF24 is designed for the rigours of live concert touring. industry-standard connectors are used to ensure reliable audio connections, night after night.

Auto-ranging universal switch-mode power supply

VF24 features a universal power supply, which is auto-voltage sensing for use on a worldwide basis.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/9451/7503/files/00_8358326a-fc0a-490e-be28-939daa2caf4c.jpg?v=1790013062
hd96-fb16
Midas HD96-FB16 Audio Mixer

HD96-FB16

The HD96-FB16 expands your control and streamlines your workflow. PRO X is compatible with all Midas PRO Series digital I/O units, as well as with any other 96 kHz-enabled AES50-equipped devices. Multiple PRO Series consoles can be connected together to create either larger mixing systems, or multiple discrete mixing consoles can share a common resource of networked and distributed I/O interfaces..

Touring Grade Road Case

Rugged and built to last, the PRO X Touring Pack includes a PRO369-RC Road Case, constructed from rigid marine grade plywood and durable aluminium extrusions. Dual load-bearing spigots that couple the weight of the console chassis directly into the road case and composite density foam provide internal support and superior protection in transit, night after night, city after city.

PRO X Advanced Navigation Flexibility

At the heart of Midas console navigation are the VCA and POPulation groups, which mirror the natural work flow used by mix engineers and encourages the development of a mental picture, or “Mind Map”, of the whole system. Only the required control elements and associated feedback are presented, allowing users to adopt structured task-based workflows, rather than being presented with an overwhelming ‘sea of knobs’. PRO X also incorporates new and innovative methods of channel and mix bay navigation: FLIP Navigation, FX Navigation, GEQ Navigation, and MCA Navigation. These four options allow an engineer to easily and efficiently mix a large number of inputs on a compact control surface. This navigation flexibility makes working with the console as simple as requirements dictate, or as deep and complex as a user desires.

PRO X provides comprehensive automatic latency management of all internal routing and processing latency – and also includes compensation for external analogue inserts.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/9451/7503/files/00_d271fbbc-a5cf-4ffa-b97d-d3bdb3d89417.jpg?v=1790013061
dl444
Midas DL444 Audio Interface

PRO SERIES DL444

DL444 is a modular 8 channel analogue mic/line input and line level output card for MIDAS PRO Series control centres and modular I/O boxes, and features award-winning MIDAS microphone preamplifiers with switchable +48 V phantom power and servo-balanced electronic outputs with high current drive capability for long cable runs. HUB4 can supply up to four DP48 personal monitor mixers with PoE (Power over Ethernet) and 48 channels of 24-bit / 48 kHz audio. HUB4 also collects 48 channels of upstream audio and forwards this audio to the FOH console, either from stage boxes connected to the AES50-B (THRU) Port or 8 return channels from each of Ports 1-4.

Cascading Hubs for Large Setups

To meet the challenges of large monitoring setups, HUB4 can easily be daisy-chained to make additional DP48 ports available, all the way up to symphonic orchestra applications. On the other hand, HUB4 can also address situations where you want to connect additional I/O via the same AES50 link to the mixing console. To help build out this AES50 console link, digital stage boxes such as the Midas DL16 or DL32 can be connected to the HUB4’s AES50-B (THRU) Port. The console can pass downstream signals to their respective stage outputs, while also receiving 48 channels upstream from the stage inputs via HUB4.

Analogue Outputs for IEM Transmitters

HUB4 features 16 balanced line-level outputs that can carry the 8 stereo mixes from the connected DP48 mixers for connections in the side rack. So there is no need to run additional lines from personal mixers to the transmitters, reducing setup time and reliability considerably. Alternatively, these analogue outputs can also be used as spare outputs on stage receiving signals directly from the FOH consoles, e.g. for providing talkback or side fill outputs.

Support from Midas M32 Series Consoles

HUB4 can convey control messages from M32 FOH consoles to DP48 personal mixers, as well as remote control messages between DP48 units. Midas DP48 Personal Monitor Mixers support remote control of other DP48 units and can also receive control information from M32 mixing consoles. This M32 control information includes assignments, names and colors of channels, which are transmitted via AES50 for easy configuration of personal mixers. HUB4 can convey control messages from the FOH console to personal mixers as well as between personal mixers. This control message system works when DP48 units are connected to Ports 1-4 or to the ports on daisy-chained hubs.

Midas DL8 PoE (Power over Ethernet) Powered Stage Boxes

HUB4 easily interfaces with the new Midas DL8 stage box, which makes bulky analog sub-snakes a thing of the past. The DL8 stage box can be connected to one of HUB4 Ports 1-4 using only a simple CAT5E STP cable. This cable connection from HUB4 can directly power up to 4 stage boxes via PoE support – IEEE802.3at per port – allowing for shorter analogue lines on stage.

Remote Control Forwarding Through HUB4

HUB4 also facilitates one of the exceptional features of DP48 Personal Monitoring systems in which one DP48 unit can be designated as Master and used to control one or more DP48 units in Slave mode. HUB4 ensures that personal mixers are enumerated and that the Master, i.e., the DP48 connected to Port 1 of the first HUB4 in a daisy-chain, can control the respective Slaves. This way either a tech-savvy bandmate or the technician can help talents on stage with their personal monitor sound.

StageConnect – The Future of XLR

HUB4 also features a designated StageConnect port on the rear panel, anticipating the future of XLR connectivity. What if any standard XLR or DMX cable could be used to transmit more than one channel of audio? What if that cable could transmit signals not only one way, but bi-directionally? What if that cable would allow the passage of control data or even MIDI at the same time? What if a connected StageConnect device could receive up to 18 W of power through that same cable? Well, these capabilities are exactly what StageConnect delivers – a new interface standard to be released by Music Tribe after two years of development. This new standard comes with outstanding technical specs: 32 channels of uncompressed PCM audio in various I/O configurations, 24-bit at 48 kHz, below 0.5 ms of latency. For optimum performance and long cable runs 110 Ohm DMX-Cable is required.

EtherCON CAT5E-STP for AES50 Remote Connections

HUB4 uses rugged industry-standard EtherCon connectors to ensure stable operation in live production environments. For best performance, a good quality CAT5E STP cable, such as Klark Teknik NCAT5E-50, allows for remote operation.

Controls & Connectivity

HUB4’s large backlit front panel buttons show when a device is connected to the corresponding AES50 port and indicate whether the upstream signals are being sent to the desired outputs.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/9451/7503/files/00_3ef4444a-3ddd-4d24-b8ce-06f77c2a0a67.jpg?v=1790013063
dl451
Midas DL451 Audio Mixer

PRO SERIES DL451

DL451 is a 3U 19" modular configurable rack mount I/O unit with provision for 3 DL4 Series interface cards and up to 24 audio inputs and 24 audio outputs. The Midas PRO X UPGRADE KIT uniquely allows owners of PRO3, PRO6 and PRO9 digital console systems to fully upgrade to a Midas PRO X system and includes the NEUTRON high performance audio system engine. This upgrade path allows owners to protect the value of their investment in Midas PRO Series and bring their existing consoles up to the state-of-the-art in digital mixing console technology.
NEUTRON High Performance Audio System Engine

The powerhouse at the centre of the PRO X system, the new NEUTRON High Performance Audio System Engine is the result of a three year research and development program that pushed the Midas engineering team well beyond their already considerable expertise and knowledge. NEUTRON’s cutting-edge, latest generation DSPs and high-performance FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) technology, coupled with a highly efficient MIMD (Multiple Instruction, Multiple Data) architecture, delivers more than 100 Gigaflops of real-time audio processing. NEUTRON represents the state-of-the art in digital audio mixing technology. HyperMAC and AES50 audio networking technologies allow up to 288 inputs and 294 outputs at 96 kHz sampling frequency combined with 40 bit floating point processing precision, which can be dynamically assigned to the PRO X’s input channels and bus outputs on a dynamic scene-by-scene basis. This high level of connectivity, coupled with the large channel and bus counts, make the PRO X and NEUTRON equally at home in theatres and symphony halls as it is in live concert touring, outside broadcast and music festivals.

PRO X Advanced Navigation

When in FLIP navigation mode, and the FLIP button is engaged, selecting an output flips the input faders to become the input channel send levels to the selected output. If the Collapsed Flip (Hide Unassigned Channels) preference is ticked, then the console will only populate with the input channels that are assigned to the selected output, otherwise all channels will be displayed. When the FX navigation button is engaged, selecting an output which is patched to an internal effects processor, this mode will deploy that effects processor on the display screen and map the ASSIGNABLE CONTROLS to the effects processor. If FADER FLIP is also engaged, the input channel faders will become the contributions to the effects processor. If COLLAPSED FLIP (Hide Unassigned Channels) preference is selected, the operator will only be presented with input channels that are sending to that effects processor. When the GEQ navigation button is engaged, selecting an output which has a graphic equaliser (GEQ) assigned, this mode will present the GEQ on the VCA faders. Scrolling the VCA faders left and right will provide access to all 31 GEQ faders. If FADER FLIP is also engaged, the input channel faders will become the contributions to the selected mix. If COLLAPSED FLIP (Hide Unassigned Channels) preference is selected, the operator will only be presented with input channels which are sending to that mix.If the MCA navigation button is engaged, when an output (mix) is selected, the MCA faders for that output will be deployed on the VCA fader bank. It also allows collecting audio from 4 of the brand-new Midas DL8 Stage Box, which can be connected and powered from ports 1-4. Ensuring reliable connections is key for the transmission of multiple channels in any setting, the HUB4 PRO features industry-standard RJ45 AES50 network ports and remote operation via shielded CAT5e cables. With a versatile and adaptive power supply, the HUB4 PRO can be used globally, and it has a rugged 1U chassis making it extremely durable for travel.

Personal Monitoring with DP48

HUB4 PRO can supply up to four DP48 personal monitor mixers with PoE (Power over Ethernet) and 48 channels of 24-bit/48 kHz audio or 2x 24 channels at 96 kHz. HUB4 PRO also collects 48 channels of upstream audio and forwards this audio to the FOH console, either from stage boxes connected to the AES50-B (THRU) Port or 8 return channels from each of Ports 1-4.

Cascading Hubs for Large Setups

To meet the challenges of large monitoring setups, HUB4 PRO can easily be daisy-chained to make additional DP48 ports available, all the way up to symphonic orchestra applications. On the other hand, HUB4 PRO can also address situations where you want to connect additional I/O via the same AES50 link to the mixing console. To help build out this AES50 console link, digital stage boxes such as the Midas DL16 or DL32 can be connected to the HUB4’s AES50 (THRU) Port. The console can pass downstream signals to their respective stage outputs, while also receiving 48 channels upstream from the stage inputs via HUB4 PRO.

Analog Outputs for IEM Transmitters

HUB4 PRO features 16 balanced line-level outputs that can carry the 8 stereo mixes from the connected DP48 mixers for connections in the side rack. There is no need to run additional lines from personal mixers to the transmitters, reducing setup time and reliability considerably. Alternatively, these analogue outputs can also be used as spare outputs on stage receiving signals directly from the FOH consoles, e.g. for providing talkback or side fill outputs.

StageConnect Interface

The innovative StageConnect interface yields additional flexibility for routing signals in, out, and through the HUB4 PRO. With just one standard XLR cable you can expand the total i/o capacity by 32 channels of lowest latency, impeccable 24-Bit audio. Connect a Midas DN4816-O here, for putting out 16 impedance-balanced line signals directly in the side rack, where the IEM transmitters are mounted. Or add another DN4816-I for collecting the signals of up to 16 wireless receivers for sending their signals through HUB4 PRO upstream to the mixing console. DN4816-U can be used to bridge USB audio with Ultranet and StageConnect in a compact rugged DI box case. Adding convenient and cost-efficient I/O flexibility is now on a level of its own with StageConnect.

Support from Midas M32 and Heritage D Series Consoles

HUB4 PRO can convey control messages from M32 FOH consoles to DP48 personal mixers, as well as remote control messages between DP48 units. Midas DP48 Personal Monitor Mixers support remote control of other DP48 units and can also receive control information from M32 and Heritage D Series Consoles. This control information includes assignments, names and colors of channels, which are transmitted via AES50 for easy configuration of personal mixers. HUB4 PRO can convey control messages from the FOH console to personal mixers as well as between personal mixers. This control message system works when DP48 units are connected to Ports 1-4 or to the ports on daisy-chained hubs.

Midas DL8 PoE (Power over Ethernet) Powered Stage Boxes

HUB4 PRO easily interfaces with the new Midas DL8 stage box, which makes bulky analog sub-snakes a thing of the past. The DL8 stage box can be connected to one of HUB4 PRO Ports 1-4 using only a simple CAT5E STP cable. This cable connection from HUB4 PRO can directly power up to 4 stage boxes via PoE support – IEEE802.3at per port – allowing for shorter analogue lines on stage.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/9451/7503/files/00_ae3ebb8c-60da-4b2b-ade0-b54fa9d9bbcc.jpg?v=1790013065
pro1-ip
Midas PRO1-IP Audio Mixer

PRO SERIES PRO1-IP

The ground breaking PRO1 features 48 simultaneous input channels with 24 award-winning Midas Microphone Preamplifiers and 27 time-aligned and phase-coherent mix buses in an all-new lightweight aluminium frame. Like all PRO Series consoles, the PRO1 features managed latency and 40 bit floating point processing precision. Designed for use in high-profile live sound applications, the PRO1 sets a new standard of performance and portability in a compact digital console form factor. AES50 audio networking technology allows the PRO1 to dynamically assign up to 172 inputs and 172 outputs at 96 kHz sample rate to any of its input channels and bus outputs on a scene-by-scene basis. This high level of connectivity, coupled with the large channel and bus counts, makes the PRO1 equally at home in theatres and clubs as it is in live concert touring, outside broadcast and music festivals.

Award-Winning MIDAS Mic Preamplifier

The Midas microphone preamplifier is considered by leading live sound and recording engineers to be the very essence of the famous Midas sound. More than 40 years of design experience paired with the finest choice of premium-grade components lead to the acclaimed warmth and depth - bringing out subtle ambience, maintaining spatial positioning and more effectively capturing a precise sound image. The acclaimed sound of the award-winning MIDAS microphone preamplifier has inspired generations of live sound engineers to their best work, creating sonic panoramas that have captivated audiences worldwide. Since pristine sound always begins with the microphone preamplifier, the first point where the signal enters the console, PRO1 features the latest generation of Midas microphone preamplifiers, which faithfully reproduce every sonic detail so no part of a performance will ever be missed.

Digital Audio Networking

SuperMAC (AES50-Compliant) digital audio networking technology from Klark Teknik simultaneously provides high channel counts, ultra low and deterministic latencies, sample-synchronous and phase-aligned networked clock distribution, error detection and correction, network redundancy, and ease of deployment and use – to meet the demanding requirements of live concert touring. PRO1 is compatible with all MIDAS PRO Series digital I/O units, as well as with any other 96 kHzenabled AES50-equipped devices. Multiple MIDAS PRO Series consoles can be connected together to create either larger mixing systems, or multiple discrete mixing consoles can share a common resource of networked and distributed I/O interfaces.

Advanced Navigation Flexibility

At the heart of MIDAS Pro Series console navigation is the VCA and POPulation groups, which mirror the natural work flow used by mix engineers and encourages the development of a mental picture, or “Mind Map”, of the whole system. Only the required control elements and associated feedback are presented, allowing users to adopt structured task-based workflows, rather than being presented with an overwhelming ‘sea of knobs’.

Integrated Effects Processors and Graphic Equalisers

The PRO1 can simultaneously provide up to 6 multi-channel digital signal processing engines for a wide choice of virtual effect devices, which range from dual-mono delay units, stereo modulation and numerous diverse reverberation simulations, multi-band compression, dynamic EQ and multi-channel dual-function dynamics processing. Up to 28 1/3 octave Klark Teknik DN370 Graphic Equalisers (GEQs) are provided, which can be patched into any output. PRO1 provides comprehensive automatic latency management of all internal routing and processing delays – and also includes compensation for external analogue inserts. All audio samples are synchronised before summing, resulting in absolute phase coherence at the outputs, without the comb filtering effects of many of its Competitor’s products that often result in specific frequencies being cancelled out completely. All effects processors and GEQs are custom-designed to function within this automatic latency compensation system. This ensures a phase-coherent, sample-accurate mix regardless of whether the devices are used as channel inserts or on auxiliary buses.

Semi-precious metals are used for the wiper fingers for their hard-wearing properties, and precision resistive tracks were created that off er highly linear positional accuracy, coupled with long-term durability and even response in use.

Highest Quality Display Screen

The PRO1 features a 15" full colour daylight-viewable TFT display for use in all environments, both inside and outdoors. The display provides visual feedback for the entire system, pressing the HOME key (just to the left of the assignable controls) instantly navigates to the console overview page, which keeps all vital information (all metering, all fader positions, mutes and solos) in view at all times.

Digital Precision, Analogue Response

The oversampled digital signal processing algorithms, combined with the fully interpolated and touch sensitive user controls, result in the smooth continuous response and immediacy of working on an analogue console. Parameter adjustment becomes fast and easy and the continuous phase shift of a swept frequency control is heard without the quantisation artefacts exhibited by competing digital consoles.

Wireless Remote Control

Delivering unprecedented control and mobility, the MIXTENDER App for iPad * combines control of key functions with the highly responsive system metering, allowing users to take control of PRO1 from an iPad anywhere in a venue. Support for multiple simultaneous iPads allows FOH and monitor engineers to work collaboratively, enhancing productivity and communication, as well as saving valuable time during set-up. The MIXTENDER App for iPad is available as a free download from the Apple App Store.

Auto-Ranging Universal Switch-Mode Power Supply

The PRO1 power supply, which is interchangeable with those in PRO2 and PRO2C, is auto-voltage sensing for use on a worldwide basis and is externally removable for easy field service in the unlikely event of a replacement being required.

Architecture & Engineering Specifications

The digital console shall be designed for digital audio mixing applications and be optimised for use in live performance. When used in conjunction with the LEGEND L10, L6, or other standard 500 Series rackmount chassis, the 522 provides the ideal solution for users seeking the legendary MIDAS sound in a modular format that boasts upgraded, premium-quality performance. Additionally, the 522’s dynamic Presence control enables operators to add “air” to vocals without the unwanted noise or pumping effects found in competing products – and reduces the risk of feedback occurrence during live performance.

Importance of Dynamics

Dynamics play a major role in music; they help to convey emotion, whether it’s a sultry blues guitar solo, a vocalist belting out his/ her message – or the punchy impact of a bass guitar or kick drum. Those dynamics are the essence of a natural sounding performance; it is what makes music interesting. But out of control dynamics can instantly mar an otherwise perfect performance. That is where compression comes to the rescue – softening loud sounds and boosting low signal levels that can often get lost in the mix. The resulting compressed signal creates a much more dense, impactful sound with richness and room for subtle nuances to come through.

Variable Dynamics & "Air"

The range of mid-high audio frequencies (centered around 5 kHz) can be boosted to increase the sense of presence of vocals and solo instruments. As 522’s Presence control is adjusted above minimum, those mid-high frequencies are increasingly boosted during compression, allowing a sound or instrument to cut through or seem more present in the mix. This variable presence function enables the 522 to effectively operate with two different ratios, one for low frequencies (LF) and the other for mid-high frequencies (reduced ratio). The primary effects are: heavy compression and dynamic control can be applied without sounding unnatural; and the reduced compression in the human ear’s most sensitive range makes the material sound brighter. However, since high frequency (HF) make up gain is not required, unwanted noise, pumping, and howl-round during quiet passages are all greatly reduced.

Manual or Auto Modes

When operating in its default mode (Auto switch not engaged) the 522 functions as a peak-sensing compressor, providing tight peak control via instantaneous changes in gain reduction, which produces more obvious compression. This allows the operator to manually adjust the compressor attack and release times so that the compressor operates in peak mode with linear attack curves. When the Auto switch is engaged, the manual attack and release controls are bypassed and the compressor operates in RMS mode, automatically adjusting the attack and release based on the averaged input signal and the threshold/ratio settings. This produces a smooth, more relaxed compression that is perceived as more musical and natural sounding.

Soft or Hard Knee

Another element that affects how natural the output sounds when compressed is how the signal is addressed at and around the knee, or threshold point. By default the 522 is set to Soft knee compression (switch out), which tends to sound more natural as it blurs the distinction between over and under threshold signals, leaving signals below threshold unaffected, while signals just over threshold get compressed at greatly reduced ratios. Only at the point where the signal level rises significantly above the threshold is full-ratio compression applied. This performance is similar to that of many vintage compressors due to non-linearities in gain reduction. When the Hard knee switch is activated, the 522 operates in a more surgical fashion with a more sharply defined transition between under and over threshold, making it ideal for limiting style compression. In this mode a small amount of Soft knee is retained to keep the sound reasonably natural.

Sidechain HPF

COMPRESSOR LIMITER 522’s Sidechain high pass filter (HPF) switch lets you insert a 200 Hz HPF into the compressor side chain, which keeps LF signals from dominating overall signal compression – and effectively eliminates the unwanted artefacts and pumping effects on higher frequencies.

High Performance Balanced Input Stage

Decades of experience, paired with the premium-grade components that make up every input stage we build, ensures the ultimate in signal integrity that is the very foundation of our design process. That warm and organic MIDAS sound has been heard by millions of concert goers – and recorded for posterity on countless live albums. The input stage of the 522 is second to none with its low noise performance, which boasts an enviable Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) of -70 dB @ 1 kHz.

Transistor Driven Transformer Balanced Output

The output stage of any audio processor is the most critical when it comes to maintaining signal integrity, so the 522 utilises discrete bipolar transistors for both their low distortion and noise characteristics. To finalise the balanced output, a premium quality transformer is employed in order to minimize distortion and maximize clean headroom. 522’s transformer also provides galvanic isolation and generates a more vintage sound, and becomes saturated at lower frequencies to add colour when driven hard.

Precision Metering

The COMPRESSOR LIMITER 522 provides at-a-glance metering with LED stacks that display Gain Reduction and Level independently of each other. The 6 segment Level meter reads from -30 dBu to +20 dBu in 10 dB steps, while the 10 segment Gain Reduction meter reads from -2 dB to -20 dB in 2 dB steps.

True Hardware Bypass & Power Up Mute

For those occasions when compression is not needed, 522’s IN switch can be disengaged to remove all circuitry from the signal path via true hardware relay bypass. Additionally, true bypass mode engages should the chassis become accidentally powered down.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/9451/7503/files/00_37d6f724-20c5-437f-b2aa-8e0cb4c60eda.jpg?v=1790013065
vu32
Midas VU32 Audio Mixer

VU32 — Venice 32.

Semi-precious metals are used for the wiper fingers for their hard-wearing properties, and precision resistive tracks were created that offer highly linear positional accuracy, coupled with long-term durability and even response in use.

Highest Quality Display Screen

The PRO1 features a 15" full colour daylight-viewable TFT display for use in all environments, both inside and outdoors.

Variable Dynamics & “Air”

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/9451/7503/files/00_da233810-9786-4b29-a95c-7632616f68c9.jpg?v=1790013065
l1b
Midas L1B

LEGEND L1B

Nothing looks better than a completely loaded LEGEND L10 or L6 500 series chassis, especially when a new client walks into your studio or meets you at the gig. This high level of connectivity, coupled with the large channel and bus counts, makes the PRO2 equally at home in theatres and clubs as it is in live concert touring, outside broadcast and music festivals.

Since pristine sound always begins with the microphone preamplifier, the first point where the signal enters the console, PRO2 features the latest generation of MIDAS microphone preamplifiers, which faithfully reproduce every sonic detail so no part of a performance will ever be missed.

Digital Audio Networking

SuperMAC (AES50-Compliant) digital audio networking technology from KLARK TEKNIK simultaneously provides high channel counts, ultra low and deterministic latencies, sample-synchronous and phase-aligned networked clock distribution, error detection and correction, network redundancy, and ease of deployment and use – to meet the demanding requirements of live concert touring. PRO2 is compatible with all MIDAS PRO Series digital I/O units, as well as with any other 96 kHz-enabled AES50-equipped devices. Multiple PRO Series consoles can be connected together to create either larger mixing systems, or multiple discrete mixing consoles can share a common resource of networked and distributed I/O interfaces.

Advanced Navigation Flexibility

PRO2 incorporates new and innovative methods of channel and mix bay navigation: FLIP Navigation, FX Navigation, GEQ Navigation, and MCA Navigation. These four options allow an engineer to easily and efficiently mix a large number of inputs on a compact control surface. PRO2 also features the ability to display and control any output bus on the input control bay area. This navigation flexibility makes working with the console as simple as requirements dictate, or as deep and complex as a user desires. PRO2’s new output section, which features 24 direct bus selection switches that provide immediate access to up to 24 stereo pairs of output mix buses, also supports the new navigation modes. If COLLAPSED FLIP (Hide Unassigned Channels) preference is selected, the operator will only be presented with input channels which are sending to that mix. If the MCA navigation button is engaged, when an output (mix) is selected, the MCA faders for that output will be deployed on the VCA fader bank. When MCA navigation is engaged, the MCA faders control the contributions of their members only to the currently selected bus. This is a unique and powerful mixing tool, which puts MIDAS in a class of its own for innovation and usability.

Integrated Effects Processors and Graphic Equalisers

The PRO2 can simultaneously provide up to 6 multi-channel digital signal processing engines for a wide choice of virtual eff ect devices, which range from dual-mono delay units, stereo modulation and numerous diverse reverberation simulations, multi-band compression, dynamic EQ and multi-channel dual-function dynamics processing. Up to 28 1⁄3 octave KLARK TEKNIK DN370 Graphic Equalisers (GEQs) are provided, which can be patched into any output. PRO2 provides comprehensive automatic latency management of all internal routing and processing latency – and also includes compensation for external analogue inserts. All audio samples are synchronised before summing, resulting in absolute phase coherence at the outputs, without the comb filtering effects of many of its Competitor's products that often result in specifi c frequencies being cancelled out completely. All effects processors and GEQs are custom-designed to function within this automatic latency compensation system. This ensures a phase-coherent, sample-accurate mix regardless of whether the devices are used as channel inserts or on auxiliary buses.

Semi-precious metals are used for the wiper fingers for their hard-wearing properties, and precision resistive tracks were created that off er highly linear positional accuracy, coupled with long-term durability and even response in use.

Highest Quality Display Screen

The PRO2 features a 15" full colour daylight-viewable TFT display for use in all environments, both inside and outdoors.

Delivering unprecedented control and mobility, the MIXTENDER App for iPad * combines control of key functions with the highly responsive system metering, allowing users to take control of PRO2 from an iPad anywhere in a venue.
