How to choose a v mount battery and plate
Watt-hours, then airline limits. Runtime comes from Wh divided by the load's watts. A 99 Wh cell is the largest most airlines allow in the cabin, which is why SmallRig's VB99 Lite sits at that number. Anything larger travels as freight.
Output ports. D-Tap, USB-C PD and sometimes 8-pin. Count what each needs to power — the transmitter and the monitor often both want D-Tap.
Plates and mounting. A V-mount plate is what attaches the battery to the rig. SmallRig makes belt-clip plates, adjustable-arm plates and full mount plate kits; choose by where the battery has to sit and whether it must swing clear of the screen.
Small-camera power. NP-F cells (Hollyland's NP-F550, 750 and 970 plus dual-slot chargers) power monitors, small lights and recorders. Dummy-battery cables in the cables collection run a camera from a V-mount instead of its own cell.
Charging strategy. Multi-slot chargers and charging cases keep a day's worth of cells cycling. Aputure's INFINIBAR 24 V power adapter kits are fixture-specific rather than general purpose.
