How to choose a microphone stand and mount

Thread size. Stands and booms in this category use 5/8"-27 or 3/8"-16. Most mic clips and shock mounts ship with a thread adapter; check before ordering, because the wrong thread is the single most common return.

Body diameter. Shock mounts and clips are sized to a specific mic barrel. A mount for a large-diaphragm condenser will not hold a slim pencil mic, and elastic suspension loses its isolation if the mic is too light for it.

Windscreen by model, not by size. Foam and furry windscreens are cut per capsule — the Hollyland Lark M2 and Lark Max windshields are different parts, as are Rode's WS series. Filter by your mic model.

Cables and converters. XLR-to-USB cables, TRS splitters and the Rode VXLR Pro make an existing mic work with a new recorder.

Shure covers 395 of these, Rode 61, SmallRig 18 and Hollyland 11 — including gooseneck bases, antenna distribution and rack hardware for installed systems. Wireless infrastructure parts are enquire so we can confirm band compatibility.
