How to choose a stream deck

Key count and dials. Count the actions you repeat. Keys handle discrete actions; dials handle continuous ones such as gain, exposure or a colour wheel. Ulanzi's D200 and D200H Stream Controllers cover the creator end.

What software it drives. A controller is only as good as its integration. Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve Editor Keyboard, Micro Color Panel and ATEM Micro Panel are built for specific applications and are far faster inside them than a generic macro pad.

Where it sits in the chain. The ATEM Micro Panel controls a switcher, not a computer. Fairlight Live Audio Panels 10, 20 and 40 control audio in Resolve. Decide which layer you actually need to touch during the show.

Desk space. These live permanently in front of you. Check footprint before you clear a space for it.

Blackmagic supplies 12 records and Ulanzi 3, all priced and cartable. Elgato is not yet sourced, which is why the shelf is thinner than the demand suggests.
