How to choose a camera bag or case
Soft or hard. Soft bags are lighter, carry more for their size and are for gear that stays with you. Hard cases — Aputure's Nova P600c Case, STORM 1000c/1200x Rolling Carrying Case, NOVA 1x1 Rolling Hard Case — are for gear that gets handed to someone else, put in a vehicle or checked onto a flight.
Fitted or generic. Fitted cases are cut for a specific fixture or system and hold it properly. Hollyland's Solidcom C1 carry cases come in 2/3, 4/6 and 8-headset versions; Aputure's are per-light. Generic foam bags suit mixed kit.
Carry type. Sling for a single body and fast access, shoulder bag for a working day, backpack for distance and stairs. Ulanzi's TP01 25L and YY038 22L cover the backpack end.
Capacity headroom. Buy for the kit you will own in a year, not the kit in your hand — bags are rarely re-bought early.
