How to choose action camera support
Match the exact body. Action camera frames are cut per generation. A frame for the Insta360 X3 will not hold an X4, and the DJI Action 2 magnetic cases are specific to that body. Filter by model, not by brand.
Decide what has to attach. A bare frame protects. A cage adds cold shoes and 1/4"-20 threads so a microphone, a light or a monitor can ride along. SmallRig's Action Camera Kit for DJI Osmo Nano and its Exclusively-Designed Action Camera Cage are the two patterns.
Mounting system. Magnetic quick-release (Ulanzi's Go-Quick II body mount) is fast and fine for handheld and chest work; a screwed mount is what you want on a vehicle or a helmet.
Water and dust. A dive housing is a different part from a protective frame — check the rated depth, not the marketing word "waterproof".
