How to choose a green screen or backdrop

Material. Muslin is cheap, packs small and creases — it needs steaming or a lot of light to hide wrinkles. Polyester and non-woven hold colour more evenly. Vinyl and paper give the flattest surface but do not fold.

Size against your framing. Measure the widest shot you will actually use, then add a metre each side. A backdrop that just fills a headshot will not survive a standing two-shot.

Distance and lighting. Keep the subject at least 1.5 m off the screen or green spill lands on hair and shoulders. Light the screen separately from the subject and aim for even coverage across it — two lights at 45° is the standard.

Support. Backdrops need a stand system or a wall mount; those are in stands and grip.

This shelf launches India-first: green screen runs 90,500 searches a month in India against 74,000 in the US. All 94 records are Godox and none carry a published price yet, so the collection is enquire-only — send your size, material and city and we will come back with price and lead time.
