Overview

The 12G-AMA is a 4-channel analog audio embedder/disembedder Mini-Converter with support for 12G-SDI input and output up to 4K/UltraHD. Fiber models offer single link fiber I/O including LC and ST options.

Audio disembedding is always functional, providing four analog outputs. Audio embedding is user selectable, on a channel pair basis, to either pass 12G-SDI input audio or to embed input analog audio from the breakout cable.

12G-AMA Workflow

The 12G-AMA in this workflow diagram is receiving 4K video and embedded audio via 12G-SDI. At the same time, the 12G-AMA is disembedding analog audio to the analog audio I/O for mixing.

The output of the mixer is then embedded into the SDI stream being output via the 12G-SDI port of the 12G-AMA. This 12G-SDI output is fed directly to a Ki Pro Ultra 12G to record the original 4K video with the newly embedded, mixed audio.

12G-AMA-T-ST Workflow

The 12G-AMA in this workflow diagram is receiving 4K video and embedded audio via 12G-SDI. At the same time, the 12G-AMA is disembedding analog audio to the analog audio I/O for mixing. Additional inputs, like a microphone or other auxiliary can also be added to the mix.

The output of the mixer is then embedded into the SDI stream being output via the 12G-SDI port of the 12G-AMA. This 12G-SDI output is fed directly to a Ki Pro Ultra 12G to record the original 4K video with the newly embedded, mixed audio. At the same time the ST fiber output is fed to FIDO mini-converter for video village use, allowing multiple monitors to be fed the same video.

Supplied Breakout Cable

The included breakout cable supports 1-channel of analog audio per XLR connector for 4-Channels of input and 4-channels of output simultaneously.

HDR Pass-Through Support

HDR or High Dynamic Range, provides the ability to display a wider and richer range of colors, much brighter whites, and much deeper, darker blacks than SDR or Standard Dynamic Range signals allow. This gives your imagery a more ‘dynamic’ look and allows for natural true to life colors to be communicated to your audience.

USB and Mini-Config Support

AJA’s free Mini-Config software can be used with any USB enabled AJA Mini-Converter and provides an easy to use graphical interface with detailed information about the current input and output formats. Control all the parameters of any supported AJA Mini-Converter as well as loading firmware updates from AJA that add new features and functionality.

Customers can purchase a spare universal power supply for use with any of their Mini-Converters. This universal power supply includes international plug connections for use around the world.

Compact and Portable

AJA Mini-Converters are small enough to fit behind a monitor, in the back of a rack, or directly on a camera rig. A locking power connector can't accidentally pull loose and an optional P-TAP power cable allows for battery power in remote locations.
