Why this kit

The move from Starter is about a hidden lav and control of the background. The Wireless GO with a Lavalier GO is specified because the transmitter disappears under a jacket, the 4.5 mm capsule clips out of sight, and 32-bit float recording on the transmitter backs up the take if the level or the link slips. It is 2.4 GHz wireless, not a rack UHF system: right for one subject in a room, not for a stage with many channels. The RC 120 is Bowens and it is deliberately over-powered for a face: office interviews are shot against windows and a key that cannot beat the window is a key that decides the frame for you. The parabolic is the second half of that: it keeps the light on the subject and off the wall two feet behind them, which is what makes an office look intentional. The RM 40C then puts a controlled colour on that wall. The Lilliput A5 exists because a locked interview frame is one you are not behind for twenty minutes, and drifting focus is only visible at monitor size. The camera is a full-frame Canon R8, for a softer background than the starter's APS-C body; it records up to 2 hr per clip, has the headphone socket for the closed-back pair and runs from the USB-C supply (Canon lists USB power for the R8), so a twenty-minute answer never depends on the battery.
