ZOOM CORPORATION is a Tokyo-listed maker of electronic musical devices (TSE Standard, 6694). It was founded on 9 September 1983 in Chiyoda, Tokyo, and remains headquartered at 4-4-3 Kanda-Surugadai, Chiyoda-ku. The company is independent; assembly is contracted to manufacturers in China. Zoom Corporation of America opened in 1990, when the first in-house product, the 9002 multi-effects processor, shipped. The first handy recorder, the H4, appeared in 2006. Zoom designs recording devices, multi-effects processors, digital mixers and samplers. The current line covers H-series handy recorders, F-series field recorders, PodTrak podcast recorders, LiveTrak digital mixers, USB audio interfaces and multi-effects processors.
